Check out the senior class's new versions of Ol' Man River, where they attempted to change the lyrics to the classic song from Show Boat, in order to prove the thesis: "While attempting to demonstrate the difficulties faced by African Americans, musical writers like Oscar Hammerstein II and Jerome Kern actually reinforced many of the stereotypes that made life so difficult for them in the first place."

Seniors in Mr. Fram's musical theatre class are going to see Leonard Bernstein's "A Quiet Place" at New York City Opera. The understudy for Dinah, the female lead, came to visit us and sing two of her arias. After she sang, students asked questions about her role, her career and her training.

Roundabout Theatre Company works with the incoming freshmen on our annual "Postcard Production," an original piece of theatre created in preparation for a trip to a Broadway show.
